Water Damage Dwells Within this Smithtown Residence
Appearances can be deceiving and it is not apparent from the exterior that amount of water damage that is inside this Smithtown home. A pipe broke in a laundry room and water loss occurred in the ground zero laundry room, den and hallway. SERVPRO techs used centrifugal pumps to extract the water so the carpet was easier to handle for removal. The slab substrate underneath needed drying. Using their moisture detection equipment, the techs discovered that water wicked into the sheetrock and after determining where the waterline was, the wet portion was cut cleanly away. This action opens up wall cavities and allows for more significant air circulation drying the loss air more quickly.
